These punches are hardened and tempered to provide excellent toughness and high wear resistance, and are plated to resist rust for longer service life. Characters are accurately positioned on the shank with controlled overall length to ensure uniform marking depth, and can be easily composed in holders suitable for hand or machine operation. Designed for part numbering, batch and date coding, these types are suitable for marking on steels, castings, forgings, aluminum, brass, plastics, and paper. Manufactured from high-quality tool steel, the letters and numbers are formed using a unique cold forming process for longer tool life, with dull nickel plating for rust-free extended shelf life.
